Holo-conference is an advanced form of Federation communications technology develped in the late 24th century. It allows two or more parties, that are in two different locations, to converse and interact as if in the same room.

This form of holotechnology was develped by Doctor Xin Ra-Havreii, Chief Designer of the Luna-Class Starship and Chief Engineer of the U.S.S. Titan (NCC-80102). Holo-conference technology draws heavily upon existing, proven technology; including, but not limited to: Holodecks, holographic projectors, Holo-Communicators, Subspace Transceivers, holographic data streams, Forcefields, Replicators, and Omnidirectional holographic diodes.

Use of this technology has many possibities, a few being:

  • A Captain entering their holodeck and having dinner with another Captain who is on a different ship.
  • Holding a meeting of varius officers from different ships, stations, or fleets, all in the same room.
  • Tactical Training involving multiple teams in multiple holodecks; on the same ship or on different ships.
  • Multiple people participating in the same holoprogram, but on different ships.

Do to the amount of resources required to use this form of communication, activation must be first autherized, coordinated, and monitored by each ship's Operations Officer prior and during usage.

Use[]

Two or more people enter their own holodeck or holosuite, which then transmits their own image to every other holodeck and receives similar transmissions in turn, making everyone appear to be in the same room despite being seperated by thousands of lightyears from each other.

An alternate form of use involves shipwide holoemitters and a single holodeck. One person uses their own holodeck as above, but the other party stays in a real room equipped with holoemitters. The image of the person in the holodeck is transmitted to the room and projected as if they were really there, their own holodeck then recieves the images of the room and its occupants, and projects a simulation of that environment for them to interact with.
