USS Adagio Task Force Delta unit patch.
Task Force Delta is a special operations squad designed by Lieutenant Tiberius Asada while he was stationed aboard the USS Adagio in 2413. The original Task Force Delta was instrumental in several combat operations during the Pi Canis Campaign. The model has since been adopted for other ships in the fleet.
Unlike M.A.C.O., which was primarily used for ground combat during war, Task Force Delta teams are typically attached to ships with a history or high probability of combat. Ships which are intended for scientific or exploratory missions may or may not have TFD teams depending on their mission parameters.
While aboard a ship, TFD teams are considered separate entities from ship's security, and may operate independently or in concert depending on circumstances. When deployed separately, those teams will report to a ship's Strategic Operations Officer. If a SOO is not present, and for all matters related to ship's security, TFD teams will report directly to that ship's Chief Security Officer.
(Editors note: TFD exists solely within the 22nd, and takes the place of MACO within our continuity. For RP interactions with characters outside the 22nd, all references to Task Force Delta can be replaced with MACO.)
Task Force Composition[]
As of 2413, The Task Force aboard the USS Adagio was comprised of two squads: Luna Squad (Covert Operations) and Phobos Squad (Assault Operations).
Luna Squad consists of eight operatives. Luna Squad is armed primarily with TR-116A rifles and Phaser Sniper Rifles. Luna Squad is primarily tasked with undercover and force recon missions.
